Carrie Elkin & Danny Schmidt are a couple of singer/songwriters from Austin, TX. They typically tour individually in different directions around the world in support of their solo musical projects. But besides being a couple of songwriters, they are also a romantic couple, and so they miss each other when they're touring in different directions.
So as often as they're able, they'll be touring together, passing the guitar back and forth, singing harmonies on each other's tunes, adding sparks to the kerosene, and generally burning down the house.
And to our good fortunes, as they travel, they're making duo recordings, one or two songs at a time, and sending them home like postcards . . .
The Coffeehouse is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia. We offer a family friendly, smoke-free listening environment for the appreciation of original singer/songwriter music. The majority of the musicians who play at the UU tour nationally and internationally.
The UU Coffeehouse, which opened its 20th season in September 2013, presents a range of acoustic music with connections to folk, blues, Celtic, bluegrass, jazz, and international music. Featuring musicians who tour nationally and internationally, the UU is a favorite performing and listening room for musicians who bring unique original music to the Columbia area.

Book Binder, traveled with the legendary Rev. Gary Davis in the late 60's..... In the late 80's 'The Book' was part of Bonnie Raitt's East Coast Tour, which included an appearance on The Grand Old Opry which led to almost 30 appearances on NASHVILLE NOW's, Ralph Emory Show! In the 90's he often appeared with JORMA KAUKONEN (who recorded 2 of Roy's songs)
Last Aug. 19th, THE GOOD BOOK, Roy's latest release of all original songs, reached #3 on AirPlayDirect's Americana charts! #1 was Guy Clark & #2 was the late Townes Van Zandt. Folkdj.org had Roy in the top 3 artists for July.
